Wi-fi truck stops


















A simple web page takes about 3 minutes to load or more. Here I thought since You Tube eats up my data from my phone hotspot, I would be slick and just rent the wifi. How in the world can they call this "high speed Internet"??????

I just can't believe this. How do they get away with a scam like this????? That is why i will never change my cell phone plan.. I have one of the very old Verizon plans that has true unlimited internet, no speed throttling or anything. My experience is that it's not worth the money You're better off just finding a Denny's or McDonalds that has free wifi, as their speeds tend to be better than the truck stop wifi.

And from what I've noticed, even the Denny's and McDonalds in the truck stops typically offer free wifi. Has anyone tried the wireless internet in there truck? I thought. It was visible on the wifi list but couldnt connect because the light turned green and I was too busy paying attention to what was going on instead of the wifi.

But I too am interested in the "In Truck" situation. That's not the way to go. That's what I thought. And that's what I have; Verizon. It's really wonderful. It is the problem of things like You Tube eating my data like there is no tomorrow that I am trying to remedy. The free wifi at our Melton terminals is always pleasant, as well.

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities. Independent truck stops usually feature free Wi-Fi as a way of drawing truckers away from the large chains, and auto-oriented stops often have it as well.

Another place to find free Wi-Fi is in the parking lot of a motel or hotel. Since such places are in the business of selling convenience, they frequently leave their networks unprotected, so you can just drive in and connect.

Even if the network is password protected, the friendlier locales will often provide a password if you ask nicely and explain why you need it. Just remember that some businesses may block certain sites, like Facebook, to prevent their employees from wasting time at work.

For a number of years, one of the best places to find free Wi-Fi has been the public library. You might have to ask for a passcode, but many times not. Years ago I parked next to one in Alabama at 11 p.
