Then incorporate these words into your active vocabulary by actively using them as you speak or write. To move forward faster, try writing new words in a phrasebook while reading, listening, or watching English. If you have time, add references as well. Next time if you write an essay, review it first and look for opportunities to add new words to your list in essay writing. Likewise, when you speak, try to incorporate your new vocabulary into your conversations, but don't force them as it will sound awkward.
Idioms can be extracted from movies and podcasts in English, however, I would recommend audio material as they lack visual cues, which makes listening difficult. Active reading is a great development habit and an important exam preparation skill.
